BEN HUR – The Stadium Spectacular

EXCLUSIVE TO SYDNEY

ANZ STADIUM - Friday 22 and Saturday 23 October 2010

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER ANDREW GUILD

The biggest entertainment event ever seen in Australia.

Direct from Europe, for the Sydney premiere of a world tour Ben Hur - The Stadium Spectacular brings to life the classic story of the slave who dared to defy the Roman Empire, a story made famous in the 11-time Academy Award winning 1959 Hollywood movie starring Charlton Heston.

Ben Hur – The Stadium Spectacular combines the unforgettable scale of the Sydney Olympic Games’ Opening Ceremony with the impact of a theatrical event featuring over 225 performers.

Massive sets and a staging area covering over 15,000 square metres make Ben Hur a production unprecedented in its scale.

ANZ Stadium becomes a huge Roman Amphitheatre allowing for the amazing and thrilling 32 horse live chariot race to be staged, where a massive Roman galleon will sail and where legions of soldiers will parade where gladiators will battle.

The momentous $15 million stadium production has been crafted by renowned French director, Robert Hossien, and was first produced in Paris at the Stade de France where it was seen by 300,000 people at 5 sold-out shows and where the production received wide critical acclaim.

Now, Ben Hur The Stadium Spectacular , a once-in-a-lifetime entertainment epic comes exc lusively to ANZ Stadium.

The St Petersburg Ballet Theatre is led by the extraordinary Irina Kolesnikova, recently described by London’s Independent on Sunday as follows:

“Irina Kolesnikova has supreme technical control; her Garbo-like smoulder creates a transfixing allure, both regal and unbearably tender”
